While Tunisia has already been eliminated from advancing, it still has pride to play for Thursday night and could also play spoiler to the Netherlands’ hopes of winning Group F. It’s been a tournament to forget for Tunisia after a 5-1 loss to Sweden in its 2026 World Cup opener followed by a 4-0 defeat to Japan last weekend.
The Netherlands opened its campaign with a 2-2 draw against Japan in a match where Virgil van Dijk and Crysencio Summerville each found the back of the net. It followed that up with an impressive 5-1 victory over Sweden, as Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo each scored twice while Summerville added his second goal of the tournament.
The Netherlands controls its own destiny and has the clearest path to the Round of 32 in Group F, but it can’t afford to overlook Tunisia.
