The Tampa Bay Rays (65-46) head to Colorado to take on the Rockies (45-67) Monday night to open a three-game interleague series at Coors Field. The two teams are on completely opposite ends of the spectrum this season, as the Rays own the best record in the American League while the Rockies enter Monday with the worst record in the National League.

The Rockies finished last season with a 43-119 record, the worst in MLB, and while they already have two more wins than they did a season ago, they still sit 24 games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and well out of the playoff picture, 14 games behind a Wild Card spot. Colorado is coming off a three-game sweep of Kansas City over the weekend, including an 8-1 win on Sunday, but it’s safe to say the 2026 season hasn’t gone as planned.

The Rays, meanwhile, are beginning to heat up once again as they look to create a larger gap between themselves and both the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in the AL East. Tampa Bay is 9-4 since July 20 and will look to keep stacking wins as it eyes a postseason berth for the first time since 2023.

Ian Seymour is expected to make the start Monday night for Tampa Bay as the left-hander looks to build on the success of his last outing, when he tossed 4.2 scoreless innings of two-hit baseball in a bullpen appearance against Texas. The Rockies will counter with veteran right-hander Michael Lorenzen, who is 3-9 with a 6.54 ERA this season.

Rockies vs. Rays Best Bet: Willi Castro Over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (-120)

Willi Castro had a relatively quiet month of July, batting just .208, but he enters Monday riding a five-game hitting streak while batting .400 during that span. Not only has Castro recorded at least one hit in each of his last five games, but he’s also gone over 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI in each of those contests.

Castro will face left-hander Ian Seymour on Monday night, and the Rockies switch-hitter has enjoyed much more success against southpaws this season, batting .292 against them. Seymour has allowed just seven hits and two runs over his last 10.2 innings pitched, but Castro is swinging a hot bat and also has the advantage of hitting at Coors Field, where he’s batting .312 with 23 runs scored and 23 RBIs in 47 games this year.
