The San Francisco Giants (31-43) remain on the East Coast as they begin a three-game series against the Miami Marlins (37-38) in South Florida Friday night at loanDepot park.
Despite the talent on their roster, the Giants have not had the season they envisioned and enter Friday among the worst teams in MLB. However, San Francisco may be starting to turn things around, riding a three-game winning streak and posting an 8-5 record over its last 13 games.
The Marlins have been one of the more surprising teams in baseball this season. Despite featuring one of the youngest rosters in the league, Miami enters Friday just two games out of a National League Wild Card spot. The Marlins are coming off a series loss in Philadelphia but have won 11 of their last 15 games.
San Francisco will hand the ball to right-hander Landen Roupp, who owns a 4.24 ERA, while Miami will counter with Lake Bachar. The Marlins right-hander is set to make his fourth start and 24th appearance of the season. Bachar owns a 1.17 ERA as a starter but has not lasted more than three innings in any of his first three starts.

Giants vs. Marlins Best Bet: Bryce Eldridge Over 0.5 Hits
The Giants promoted Bryce Eldridge in May, and after a brief adjustment period, the young slugger has caught fire at the plate. Since May 29, Eldridge is batting .424 with 12 extra-base hits and 14 RBIs.
Eldridge enters this series riding an eight-game hitting streak and is batting .419 during that span. In fact, since May 29, the 21-year-old has been held hitless in just one of his last 18 games.
The matchup is not an easy one. Miami’s pitching staff has allowed the fifth-fewest hits and fifth-lowest batting average in MLB this season. In June specifically, the Marlins have allowed the second-fewest hits and second-lowest batting average in baseball. Lake Bachar has allowed just three hits across 10.2 innings in June, including only one hit across his three starts this month.
Still, sometimes it pays to ride the hot hand, and there are few hitters hotter than Eldridge right now.
- Giants vs. Marlins Player Prop Pick for June 19: Bryce Eldridge Over 0.5 Hits (-180)
