World Cup Day 7 continues Wednesday night with Ghana and Panama facing off north of the border at BMO Field, known as Toronto Stadium for the duration of the tournament.

This matchup may not feature the same star power as some of the tournament’s marquee fixtures, as both Ghana and Panama enter the 2026 World Cup as significant long shots to win the title. Ghana is making its fifth World Cup appearance and will look to advance beyond the group stage after being eliminated there in both 2014 and 2022. Panama, meanwhile, is making just its second World Cup appearance after debuting in 2018 and failing to advance out of the group stage.

Ghana has not won a match since its CAF World Cup qualifying victory on Oct. 12, though it most recently played Wales to a 1-1 draw on June 2 in a World Cup tune-up. Panama enters in slightly better form after defeating the Dominican Republic 4-2 and drawing Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-1 in its final two warm-up matches before the tournament.

Below is a featured pick from the Stats Hub for the match:

Ghana vs. Panama Best Bet: Both Teams to Score – Yes

Ghana has not done much scoring over its last seven matches dating back to Oct. 12, but it has faced several quality opponents during that stretch, including Mexico, Germany, Austria, South Korea, and Japan. Panama, on the other hand, has scored at least one goal in five consecutive matches since March 27, including a two-goal performance against Brazil in an international friendly on May 31.

While this match could certainly end in a low-scoring draw, both teams have a reasonable path to finding the back of the net based on recent form and the overall level of competition. Interestingly, the “Both Teams to Score” market has cashed during regulation in seven of Ghana’s last eight World Cup matches.
