The battle of the Sox continues Wednesday night as the Boston Red Sox (61-51) host the Chicago White Sox (59-53) for Game 2 of this three-game series at Fenway Park. The Red Sox earned a dominant 14-2 victory in Tuesday’s series opener and now hold a 4-0 season-series lead over Chicago this year.

The Red Sox have now won six consecutive games to continue their surge up the standings and are 24-3 since July 3, including their franchise-record-tying 15-game winning streak. Boston scored six runs in the first inning of Tuesday night’s game, highlighted by Caleb Durbin’s grand slam and Jarren Duran’s solo shot for back-to-back home runs. That was the first of two six-run innings for the Red Sox, with the second coming in the sixth to make it 13-2 at the time. The two runs not included in those big innings came on solo home runs by Wilyer Abreu, first in the fifth inning and again in the eighth, his 18th and 19th home runs of the season.

Boston will hand the ball to veteran right-hander Sonny Gray on Wednesday night. Gray owns a 2.93 ERA, and his 13 wins are the most by any American League pitcher this season. Right-hander Sean Burke is set to start for the White Sox, bringing a 3.04 ERA and 140 strikeouts to the mound, setting up what could be a pitchers’ duel at Fenway.

Red Sox vs. White Sox Best Bet: Munetaka Murakami Over 0.5 Hits (-200)

Munetaka Murakami has made quite the impression on Major League Baseball since coming over from Japan to join the White Sox before the season. The 26-year-old slugger has 24 home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .918 OPS in his rookie campaign and was selected to the 2026 All-Star Game earlier this season. He has the second-shortest odds (+350) to win the American League Rookie of the Year Award at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook, trailing only Detroit’s Kevin McGonigle.

Murakami enters Wednesday riding an 11-game hitting streak while batting .311 during that stretch. He went 1-for-4 in Tuesday’s series opener against the Red Sox, and while Sonny Gray has pitched extremely well for Boston for most of the season, he has allowed a combined 17 hits and nine earned runs over his last two starts.
